The sidebar on the left is how you get around ContentForge. It's grouped by what you're doing, and every item opens with one click.
The sidebar groups
- Work: Dashboard (what needs you today), Clients (with your client count), Websites, Custom assets (your Templates and the Widget builder) and Zeus. Getting started sits at the top until setup is finished.
- Growth: SEO (Local SEO audit, Keyword Forge, Backlink analysis, Competitor analysis, Schema generator), Google & Ads (Local map ranking, GBP optimization, and where Google Ads and Analytics live), Prospects and Content (Content generator, Image generation).
- Business: The Pantheon (when it's on your plan), Billing & credits and Settings. See Your agency settings.
- Help: Help center, with the Knowledge Base and Submit a ticket.
SEO, Google & Ads, Content and Custom assets each open a page that lists their tools with a line about each. While you're in one of those tools, the other tools in its group are listed under it in the sidebar, so you can switch in one click.
You only see the tools you've been given. If a whole item is missing, none of its tools are switched on for you. See Team members and roles.
The top of the sidebar
- The bell: what just happened, with an unread count. See Notifications (the bell).
- The panel button: folds the sidebar to icons (see below).
- Your agency: your logo (or initials), your agency's name, your plan and how many clients you have. Owners and admins can click it to open your agency settings. ContentForge staff see the View as agency switcher here instead.
- Search: opens the quick switcher.
The quick switcher (⌘K)
Press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows), or click the search field at the top of the sidebar (the magnifier in the phone top bar), to open the quick switcher from anywhere in ContentForge. Type part of a client's name, a website's name or address, or a page or setting (for example "billing", "team" or "api"). You don't have to type it exactly: "lsa" finds Local SEO audit.
Use ↑ and ↓ to pick a result and Enter to open it; Escape closes the switcher. With nothing typed, it shows what you opened recently, your recently updated clients and websites, and your main pages. It only lists clients, websites and pages you're allowed to open.
Fold the sidebar to icons
Click the panel button next to the bell. The sidebar shrinks to a row of icons, so pages get more room. Hover an icon to see its name. Click the panel button again to open it back up.
Your choice is saved to your account, so it stays the same on any browser you sign in on.
On a phone or tablet
A dark bar runs across the top with the menu button on the left, the ContentForge name in the middle, and search and the bell on the right. Tap the menu button to slide out the same sidebar. Tap a page, the ×, or anywhere outside it to close it.
Credits
The bottom of the sidebar shows how many credits you have left, with a bar for this month's plan credits. Click Top up to buy more on Billing & credits. See How credits work.
Your account menu
Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar. The menu has:
- Profile: your name, photo, sign-in email, password and two-step verification.
- Notifications: opens the bell, with how many are new.
- Theme: Light, Dark or System.
- Sign out.
You can use it with the keyboard too: ↑ and ↓ move through it, and Escape closes it.
Dark mode
Pick a theme in the account menu under Theme, or on Settings → Profile → Appearance:
- Light: the bright look (the default).
- Dark: dark pages that are easier on the eyes at night.
- System: follows your computer or phone, and switches when it does.
The theme is saved to your account, so it follows you to any browser, and pages open in it straight away with no flash of the other theme. It's just for you; your team and clients keep their own. The Mount Olympus editor keeps its own look, and your clients' websites always show exactly as designed.
Where did it go?
- Client Management is gone: Clients is in Work, Prospects in Growth, and Client onboarding and Prospect tool are in Settings.
- SEO Tools is now SEO, and Local map ranking and GBP optimization are under Google & Ads.
- Billing & credits is its own item under Business.
- Dark Mode and Sign out are in the account menu at the bottom.
Troubleshooting
- A tool or a whole item is missing: it's switched off for you. Ask your agency owner or an admin.
- ⌘K doesn't open the switcher: click the search field at the top of the sidebar instead. Some browser extensions use the same shortcut.
- The theme changed back: check the account menu. System follows your device, so the page goes dark when your device does.
