When an agency's Owner or an Admin adds you as a team member, you get an email inviting you to their ContentForge. Nobody sets a password for you: you choose your own the first time you open the link, and you're signed in straight away.
If you're a business owner who was invited to your agency's client portal, this isn't your article: see Client portal sign-in.
How to accept your invite
- Open the email called " invited you to ContentForge". It says who invited you and how long the link works.
- Click Accept invite. (If the button doesn't work, copy the link under it into your browser.)
- The page says Join and shows the email you were invited with. You can't change it here.
- Type a Password and type it again in Confirm password.
- Click Accept invite. You're signed in and taken to the dashboard.
From now on, sign in at the normal sign-in page with that email and the password you chose.
Password rules
- At least 10 characters, and no more than 128.
- At least one letter and at least one number.
- It can't be your email address.
The rules show under the Password box as you type, and each one ticks off when it's met.
What you'll see once you're in
You see the agency's clients and tools your Owner or Admin gave you. A Member might only see some clients, and some tools might be switched off. If you need more, ask the person who invited you. See Team members and roles.
Examples
- You open the email the same day: click Accept invite, pick a password, done.
- You were away for two weeks: the link has run out. Ask your agency to click Resend invite and use the new email.
- The email went to spam and was deleted: go to the sign-in page, click Forgot password?, enter the email you were invited with and choose a password from the reset email. That accepts the invite too.
Limits and what it can't do
- The invite link works for 7 days and only once.
- When your agency resends the invite, only the newest email's link works. Older ones stop working.
- You can't choose a different email on the invite page. If you need to use another address, ask your agency to invite that one instead (and cancel the first invite).
- An email that already has a ContentForge sign-in can't be invited as a new team member.
- Opening too many broken or expired invite links in a row from the same place pauses you for a while.
Who can use it
Anyone an agency's Owner or Admin invites from Settings → Team Members. Invitation trials can't invite team members.
Troubleshooting
- "This invite can't be used" with "This invite link has expired or was already used. Ask your agency to resend the invite.": the 7 days ran out, you've already accepted it, or a newer invite replaced it. If you already chose a password, click Go to sign in. If not, ask your agency to resend it, or use Forgot password? on the sign-in page with the invited email.
- "The two passwords don't match.": type the same password in both boxes.
- "Use at least 10 characters.", "Include at least one letter.", "Include at least one number." or "Don't use your email address as your password.": change the password to meet the rules.
- "Could not save your password — try again": something went wrong on our side. Click Accept invite again.
- "Too many attempts — try again in …": too many invalid links were opened. Wait the time shown, then open the newest invite email.
- You land on the sign-in page instead of the dashboard: your password was saved but you weren't signed in automatically. Sign in with your email and the password you just chose.
- The email never arrived: check spam for "invited you to ContentForge". Ask your agency to click Resend invite; they can send up to 3 an hour.
