A blank site is an empty Home page with a starter header and mobile menu. You build the rest yourself in Mount Olympus. Use it when you have your own design in mind and don't want a template's layout to clear out first.
How to create a blank site
- Go to Websites and click New site, then Blank.
- The New blank site window opens. Search for the client in Search clients… and click their name.
- No client yet? Click New client, type the New client's business name and click Create client. The client is made and the site is started for them. Fill in the rest of their details later on the client's page.
- The site is created and opens in the editor.
You can also click Start blank on the template step of New site → From template, after you pick the client.
What's filled in for you
- Business Info comes from the client record: name, phone, email, address, hours, social links and logo. Business Info widgets and Business Text show these straight away. See Business Info and Business Text.
- The theme's Primary color is the client's primary brand color, if they have one. The fonts start as Inter.
- The header has the client's logo and a menu, with a matching mobile menu.
- The Home page has one empty section ready for widgets.
- The site name is the client's business name. The site gets a draft preview address.
The more you fill in on the client's record first, the less you type in the editor. See Add a client.
Examples
- A one-page site for a food truck: start blank, add a hero, a menu section and a map, then publish.
- Rebuilding from a mockup: your designer sent a layout. Start blank and lay out sections to match, instead of undoing a template.
- A landing page for a campaign: a blank site for the client with a single page and a form, on its own domain.
Limits and what it can't do
- A blank site has no pages beyond Home, no collections and no blog. Add them in the editor.
- The new site is a draft. Nothing goes live until you publish. See Publish your site.
- The client's colors and details are copied once, when the site is made. Later changes to the client record don't change the theme color. Business Info can be updated in the editor.
- You can't rename the site from the Websites page. Duplicate it with a new name if you need to.

- "No clients found": you have no clients yet, or none you can see. Click New client to make one.
- "No clients matching …": nothing fits the search. Clear it, or search by the client's domain.
- "Failed to create site": the site couldn't be saved. Nothing was made, so try again.
- "Failed to create homepage — site rolled back": the Home page couldn't be saved, so the site was removed again. Try again.
- "Network error — try again": the connection dropped. Check it and click the client again.
- "Client not found": the client was deleted or belongs to another agency. Pick another client.
