Fill a template with Zeus turns one of your full-site templates into a site for a client. Zeus rewrites all of the template's text and swaps in the client's photos. The design stays exactly as it is: the same pages, sections, layout and styles. You get a draft site.

To have Zeus design a whole new site from a description instead, use Create with Zeus.

How to fill a template with Zeus

  1. Start from either place:
    • Websites → New site → From template. Pick the client, then click Fill with Zeus on a template card. The client and template are already chosen, so you start at 3. Pages.
    • Custom Assets → Templates. Hover a template and click Fill with Zeus. Pick the business and you go straight to Pages — the template is already chosen.
  2. Pages: check the site name and tick the services and service areas that get their own page.
  3. Images: choose where the pictures come from.
  4. Cost: check the total and click Start. The total shows on the button.
  5. Wait, or close the page. You'll get an email when the site is ready. If you keep the page open, the finished site opens in Mount Olympus with Zeus's review list.

Template cards show Fill with Zeus: ready when the template can make service and area pages, and Fill with Zeus: no service / area pages when it can't. Every template can be filled either way. See below.

The steps explained

1. Choose the business: pick a client, search, or add a new one.

2. Choose a template: your agency's full-site templates and the platform's. Click Use template or Preview. On your agency's templates, Starter posts: on / off (needs a blog layout) sets whether the template offers 3 starter posts. With no templates yet, save a site as one first. See Save a site as a template.

3. Pages

  • Site name: starts as the client's business name.
  • Services and Service areas: all ticked to start with. All and None tick or clear the list. Zeus writes one page per ticked service and area.
  • Every service can get its own page (a client can have up to 20). Once 20 are ticked, the list says "That’s the limit — untick one to pick a different one." The cost only counts what's ticked.
  • If the template has no Services or Service-Area collection, the step says service or area pages can't be added. Zeus still rewrites every page.
  • Rewrite the template's N blog posts as new articles for the client (drafts): shown when the template has blog posts. Ticked to start with.
  • Add 3 starter blog posts (drafts): shown instead when the template has no posts but has a blog layout and starter posts turned on.

4. Images: pick one. The choices show how many photos the client has.

  • Use the client's photos first, Zeus fills the gaps: the default.
  • Use the client's photos first, keep the template's images in the gaps: no Zeus images, so no image credits.
  • Zeus makes every image.
  • Choose per image: for each image, pick Zeus makes it, Client media / upload or No image. Upload adds a file, which also goes into the client's media library.
  • No new images (the template's images stay).

5. Cost: the pages, Zeus images and blog posts, each with its credits, and the Total. It also shows your balance. Click Start.

What Zeus rewrites

Zeus goes through every page, plus the header, footer and phone menu, and rewrites the text for the client in their brand voice: headings, paragraphs, buttons, labels, image descriptions (alt text), FAQs, tabs, lists, cards, table cells, and each page's SEO title and description.

Each piece keeps about the same length, so the design holds. The business details (name, phone, email, address, hours and towns) come from the client's record, and Zeus uses the client's real services and areas. Menus, forms, maps and Google reviews aren't rewritten.

Nothing is hidden because the client has no data for it. A widget Zeus can't fill truthfully stays as the template has it and is flagged for you.

The facts check

Zeus only states facts the client's record backs up. Each rewritten piece is checked for numbers, prices, years, licenses, guarantees, awards, quotes and town names that aren't on record. A piece that fails goes back to Zeus once. If it still fails, that sentence is removed, and the finished screen lists it.

  • Testimonials: real reviews are quoted word for word. With none, the section stays as the template has it and is flagged, because those are another business's reviews. Publishing warns you while they're still there.
  • Counters: the numbers are the template's. You're asked to check them.
  • Pricing Cards and Plan Comparison: filled word for word from the client's price list in Business extras (Client → Details). Without one, the template's plans and prices stay and are flagged.
  • Coupon: filled from the client's active offer in Business extras. Zeus only writes the title and button.
  • Restaurant Menu, Events, Google Calendar, OpenTable and RSS Feed: filled from Business extras. Without them, they stay as the template has them and are flagged.

See How to add a client for Business extras.

Images

Zeus matches the client's photos to each spot by subject. Photos in a service's folder go on that service's pages first, and never on another service's page. The client's other photos fill the rest: their media library, other folders, the location and additional photos from their onboarding form or details, and the media libraries of their other sites. The owner and team photos only go on an About or team page (owner first), never in a background. The business logo is never used as a photo. Each photo is used once.

This covers every image, every section or box background (including each slide of a background slideshow), and the photos inside widgets such as galleries, sliders, card widgets and the Media Vortex. Each photo counts as one image in the cost. Zeus images are made after the text, so they suit what each section now says.

Two kinds of picture are never made up:

  • Before & After uses only a real pair of the client's photos named to match, like "Kitchen before" and "Kitchen after".
  • Logo strips use only the client's own logos, such as badges named "logo" or "badge".

Without them, the template's pictures stay and are flagged.

The client's primary and secondary brand colors go into the theme, and everywhere the template used its own Primary or Secondary now uses the client's. Color names like "navy blue" work too. Zeus then checks that every text, menu link, button and icon still reads with the client's colors (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text and icons). Anything that doesn't gets the nearest theme color that does, such as a lighter or darker shade of the brand color or the theme's text or background color. For example, a navy brand color as menu text on a black header becomes a lighter navy. These fixes still follow the theme. Colors that aren't the template's theme colors stay as designed. This is different from creating a site from a template yourself, which keeps the template's own colors.

When a background photo with words on it changes, Zeus checks the words still read. If not, he darkens the photo more or changes the text color.

Blog posts

Each of the template's blog posts (up to 12) becomes a new, full article for the client, on a topic from their services and areas. Each gets a new title, web address, summary, body, SEO title and description, and featured image (the client's photo first, then a Zeus image if your image choice allows). Posts go through the same facts check and stay drafts.

These count as written by ContentForge, so the client's When ContentForge writes a blog post setting for social posts applies.

Review and fix

When the run finishes, the screen shows how many pages Zeus rewrote. Click a page to read what Zeus wrote.

  • Rewrite this page · 2 credits: type what should change (optional) and click it.
  • Remake · 1 credit: say what should change in the image, or leave it empty for a new variation. On one of the client's photos the button is Let Zeus make it.
  • Earlier versions (free to go back): click a thumbnail to go back to it.
  • The template's images lists every photo and background Zeus put on the pages, with the same Remake buttons. Before & After photos and logos can only be changed in the editor.
  • Check these before you publish lists what still needs a person: prices, coupons, menus, events, calendars, OpenTable, feeds, testimonials, counters, and Before & After photos or logos.

Changes go straight into the draft. When you're happy, click Open in Mount Olympus.

Zeus's review list in the editor

When the run finishes while you're watching, or you click Open in Mount Olympus (or the button in the email), the site opens in the editor with Zeus's chat open and the review list first:

  • Click an item to go straight to it. Zeus opens its page and selects the widget.
  • Each item says what to do next, like "Tell me the real prices and I'll update them — or add the price list in Business extras and ask me to fill it."
  • Items tick themselves off once fixed. Counters, Before & After and logo strips have Mark as checked.
  • Back to the run summary returns to the finished screen.

Opening Zeus again later shows whatever is still left to check.

Examples

  • A plumber on your agency's trades template: tick all 6 services and 10 towns, keep Use the client's photos first, Zeus fills the gaps, and start. You get the template's design with the plumber's words and photos, plus 16 service and area pages.
  • A tight budget: pick Use the client's photos first, keep the template's images in the gaps. You only pay for pages and posts.
  • A restaurant template: fill in the menu and OpenTable ID in Business extras first, so the menu and booking widgets aren't flagged.

Limits and what it can't do

  • Up to 20 service pages per site (one per service).
  • Up to 12 of the template's blog posts are rewritten. With more, the tick box says "the first 12 of N".
  • Each image keeps its 5 most recent earlier versions.
  • The layout, sections and styles never change. To change the design, edit the site afterwards or use Create with Zeus.
  • Zeus never invents prices, offers, reviews, dishes, events, Before & After photos or logos.
  • Fill with Zeus never changes a template's blog design.
  • The site is a draft. Nothing is published.

Credits

  • 2 credits per page Zeus writes (Homepage, About and Services Overview, plus one per service and area) and per blog post.
  • 1 credit per Zeus image.
  • After the run: Rewrite this page is 2 credits and Remake is 1 credit.
  • Free: rewriting the rest of the template's text, the client's own photos, going back to an earlier image version, and anything that fails.

The help page shows the current prices. Zeus checks before he starts that you have enough credits for the whole run.

Who can use it

Agency team members with the Mount Olympus tool. A team member limited to some clients only sees those clients' runs. Client people never get Zeus.

Troubleshooting

  • "This site needs N credits (you have M).": click Buy credits, or untick some services and areas, or choose fewer Zeus images.
  • "Content generation needs 2 credits — you have 0. Buy credits to continue." (or Zeus image), with a Buy credits button: you don't have enough credits for a rewrite or remake.
  • "Zeus couldn't do that — no credits were used": the rewrite or remake didn't work. Try again.
  • "Up to 20 services can get their own page — untick … and start again.": more than 20 services were ticked (for example from an older tab). Untick some and click Start again.
  • "Zeus is still working on this site — try again in a minute": wait a minute, then click again.
  • "This image was changed in the editor — change it there": you already replaced that image in Mount Olympus.
  • "Before & After photos and logo strips only use the client's real pictures — change them in the editor": add the real pictures in the editor.
  • "No "Services" collection — service pages can't be added with this template.": the template has no Services collection. Zeus still rewrites every page. The same goes for Service-Area.
  • A page shows "Not written — no credits used": click Try again on that page.
  • "Zeus stopped.": credits were only used for finished pages and images.
  • "Wait until the site is built": rewrites and remakes work once the run is done.
