Generated blog articles, service pages, service area pages and landing pages can go straight onto a client's Mount Olympus site. Sending is free. The Send to Website button appears on the result in the Content Generator and on each matching item in Past content (the tab at the top of the Content Generator).
How to send a blog article
- Click Send to Website on the article.
- Pick the site.
- Choose Save as draft (review it in Mount Olympus → Blog, then publish) or Publish now (it goes live straight away). You're asked every time.
- Click Send to Website.
The post goes into the site's blog with its title, meta description, hero image and up to three tags (the service and keyword). The client's business is set as the author. If the site has no blog yet, one is set up for it. If the site itself isn't published yet, a published post goes live once the site is.
Clients who approve blog posts first
If the client approves blog posts before they go live (turned on in Client → Settings → Client approvals), Publish now saves the post as a draft instead. Open it in Mount Olympus → Blog and use Send for approval. It goes live once the client approves it, or you approve it for them. See Client approvals.
Social posts for the new blog post
Depending on the client's When ContentForge writes a blog post setting, you're offered Make posts on the result, or a social pack is made for you. See Social posts.
How to send a service or service area page
- Click Send to Website on the page.
- Pick the site. Zeus shows his plan before anything is written: the page URL, which existing page's Layout he will copy, the list of sections, and anything to Check after sending.
- Click Save as draft page, then Open in Mount Olympus to review it.
Zeus lays the new page out like the site's existing page of the same kind, so a new service page matches your other service pages. If the site has none yet, he uses a clean default layout. He also fills in the page's SEO title, description, keyword and service schema. The page is always a draft. It goes live the next time you publish the site.
How to send a landing page
- Click Send to Website on the landing page.
- Pick the site. Zeus shows the page URL (from the search term), the sections he'll build, and anything to Check after sending.
- Click Save as draft page, then Open in Mount Olympus to review it.
Zeus builds the page from the landing page template in the site's own theme. The page is a draft and is hidden from the menu. Publish the site, then point the ad's final URL at it. See How to write a landing page for a search term or ad.
How to send client photos
On Client → Media, select photos and click Send to Site. Then pick the site. The images are copied into that site's media library, ready for the image picker in the editor. Photos already sent are skipped.
Examples
- A weekly blog post: write it in the Content Generator, Send to Website → Save as draft, check it in Mount Olympus → Blog, then publish it.
- A new town page: write a Service Area Page for "Riverton", Save as draft page, open it in Mount Olympus, check the map and photos, then publish the site.
- Job photos for the gallery: on Client → Media, tick the new photos and Send to Site, then add them to a gallery in the editor.
Limits and what it can't do
- Only blog articles, service pages, service area pages and landing pages can be sent. Strategies, press releases and social posts can't (press releases have their own Publish to site newsroom).
- Only Mount Olympus sites are listed. A client with no site shows "Needs a Mount Olympus site". Create or import one first.
- Pages always arrive as drafts. Nothing on the live site changes until you publish.
- Zeus won't overwrite an existing page. Edit or remove the existing page first.
- You can send up to 50 photos at a time from Client → Media.
- Only your agency can send content. Client portal logins can't.
Who can use it
Agency members with the Content Generator tool and editor access to the client's site in Mount Olympus. Sending is free.
Publishing a blog post adds "Published blog – {title}" to the client's work done. If Zeus wrote the post for an Edict, that Edict is marked Executed when the post goes live. A page written for an Edict marks it Executed when you send the page.
Troubleshooting
- I clicked Publish now but the post is a draft: the client approves blog posts first. Use Send for approval on the post (see above).
- "A page already exists at /… Open it in Mount Olympus, or delete it first.": the URL is taken. Rename or delete the old page, then send again.
- "… is already the service page for …. Open it in Mount Olympus to update it instead.": the site already has a page about that service or town.
- "… can't be used for a page — rename the service.": the name makes a reserved address (like /blog). Rename the service or area on the client record and write the page again.
- "Could not read this landing page — write it again in the Content Generator.": the saved copy is damaged or from an old version. Write it again.
- "Website not found or does not belong to your account": the site was deleted or belongs to another client. Pick another site.
- "Only your agency can send content to a website": you're signed in as a client. Ask your agency.
- There's no Send to Website button: it only shows on blog articles, service pages, service area pages and landing pages.
