How to write a landing page for a search term or ad

Zeus writes landing page copy for a search term or Google Ads ad group in your client's voice, using only facts from the client's details. Send it to the client's site as a new page, or have Zeus improve the page an ad already points to.

A landing page is where someone lands after searching or clicking an ad. Google judges it on how closely it matches the search and the ad, how useful it is, how easy it is to get in touch, and how open the business is. People decide in a few seconds whether to call. The Landing Page type writes copy built for that, in the client's own voice.

How to write a landing page

  1. Open Content → Content Generator and choose the client under Business Name.
  2. Set Content Type to Landing Page.
  3. Enter the Target search term (required, up to 120 characters), for example "roof repair arcata". If you add Other keywords in the ad group and The ad's headlines (one per line), the page says what the ad promised.
  4. Add the Destination city and The offer if the ad has them. Zeus only mentions an offer you enter here.
  5. Optionally add Anything else Zeus should know (up to 600 characters), for example "Focus on storm damage".
  6. Click Forge This Content. The copy appears as Zeus writes it. Zeus then checks every fact against the client's details before the page is saved to Past content.

From Google Ads: opening a landing page from an ad group fills in the client, the search term and the ad's headlines for you.

What you get

  • Meta title and description, each with the search term once.
  • Hero: a headline that matches the search, one line on what the customer gets, the main button, and a Call button with the client's phone number.
  • Proof: the client's real rating, review count, licenses and insurance, and up to three of their reviews, quoted word for word. If the client has none on file, this section is left out.
  • How it works: 3 or 4 steps from first contact to the finished job.
  • Service details: what's included, what affects the price, and how pricing works.
  • Areas served: the client's own service areas.
  • FAQ: 4 to 6 questions people ask before they call, answered honestly.
  • Final call to action: the same button again, with the phone number.

What Zeus won't write

Zeus never makes up prices, discounts, reviews, star ratings, years in business, licenses, awards, guarantees, response times or towns. These come only from the client's details, or from the offer and headlines you entered. Zeus checks the copy before it's saved. Anything that isn't backed up is rewritten once, then removed if it still fails. What Zeus checked, under the result, lists what changed.

Zeus also leaves out filler like "top-notch" and "look no further", fake urgency like "limited time" or "act now", and repeating the keyword over and over. Spelling follows the client's country (UK or US English).

To get stronger copy, add more real details to the client: licenses, insurance, guarantees, the client's own FAQ, and what makes them different.

Put it on the client's site

  • Send to Website (on the result or in Past content) builds the page on the client's Mount Olympus site as a draft, in the site's theme. It's hidden from the menu, because a landing page has one goal. Review it in Mount Olympus, publish the site, then point the ad's final URL at the new page. Sending is free.
  • Improve /page with Zeus appears when you came from Google Ads and the ad already points to a page. It opens that page in the editor with Zeus's chat ready and the request typed in. Read the request and click Send. Zeus shows a Confirm card before he changes anything.

Ask Zeus in the editor

In the editor, you can also ask Zeus directly: "Make a new landing page for roof repair arcata", or "Improve this page as a landing page for roof repair arcata". To improve a page, he:

  • rewrites the hero's headline, subhead and buttons to match the search
  • adds a call button at the top if the page has none
  • adds the template sections the page is missing (reviews, how it works, FAQ, a final call to action)
  • sets the page's SEO title and description

Zeus keeps the rest of the page and its design. Every change is one Undo step, and nothing is published until you publish. In the editor this counts as a page build, so it uses your included Zeus messages first and then the page-build price.

Examples

  • A roofer's Google Ads ad group: search term "roof repair arcata", headlines "Roof Repair in Arcata" and "Get a Written Quote", offer "Free roof inspection".
  • An emergency plumber: search term "emergency plumber springfield", notes "Most calls are burst pipes at night".
  • Fixing a weak existing page: open it from the ad group in Google Ads and use Improve /page with Zeus.

Limits and what it can't do

  • The client needs a phone number or email on file. A landing page has to show how to get in touch.
  • One search term per page. Make a separate page for each ad group that needs its own message.
  • Pages arrive as drafts, hidden from the menu. Nothing goes live until you publish the site.
  • Zeus can't change your ad's final URL. Do that in Google Ads.

Credits

  • Writing in the Content Generator costs one Content generation (2 credits). You're only charged once the copy is saved. If writing fails, no credits are used.
  • Sending it to the site is free.
  • Improving or building a page with Zeus in the editor counts as a Zeus editor page build, after your included Zeus messages.

Who can use it

Agency members with the Content Generator tool write the copy. Sending it and editing it in Mount Olympus need editor access to the client's site. Clients can't use it from their portal.

Troubleshooting

  • "… has no phone number or email on file. Add one to the client first — a landing page has to show how to get in touch.": add a phone or email on Client → Details, then try again.
  • "Enter the search term the page is for." or "Choose a business.": fill in the missing field.
  • "Zeus couldn't write the landing page just now — …": nothing was charged. Try again in a minute.
  • "The landing page was written but couldn't be saved, so no credits were used. Try again.": try again.
  • "The connection to Zeus dropped. Check Past content (it may have finished), then try again.": look in Past content before running it again.
  • The proof section is missing: the client has no rating, reviews, licenses or insurance on file. Add them to the client and write the page again.
