Zeus is the intelligence behind ContentForge. For every client he gathers the data you already track, works out what is holding the business back, and tells you what to do next, most important first. Use him as your monthly to-do list for each client.
How to see what Zeus found for a client
- Open Clients and click the client. The client page opens on Zeus (it's the first tab).
- Read What Zeus found this month. The line under it shows how many actionable findings are new.
- Work through Edicts first, then Decrees, then Omens. Each card has steps, a reason and a button to the right place. See Edicts, decrees and omens explained.
- Click In Progress, Executed or Defy on each card as you go.
- To get findings at all, click Enable free monthly scans (shown on a new client's Zeus tab, page header and Clients card): link the client's Google accounts, check the settings and save, and Zeus starts his first scan straight away, free. Or press Summon Zeus. See How Zeus scans work.
When Zeus has nothing to raise, the list says "The kingdom is strong."
Where you see Zeus's work
- The client's Zeus tab: findings grouped as Edicts, Decrees and Omens, Zeus drafts for approval (see Zeus drafts) and Work done this period (see Work done).
- Your Dashboard, Needs your attention: a Zeus Edicts group lists Edicts that are new since you last opened that client's Zeus tab (or from the last 14 days if you've never opened it). Opening the client's Zeus tab marks them seen for you. Decrees never get their own group; a quiet line under the section says how many Decrees are open across clients and links to the filtered Clients list. Google Ads findings waiting for you show as Ads reviews to approve.
- Your Dashboard, Coming up: Zeus runs lists clients whose monthly scan is due in the next 7 days ("Zeus monthly scan" or "Zeus monthly scan is due now").
- Zeus chat, where you can ask about a client's findings in plain words. See Using Zeus chat.
- A connected AI assistant: you can start a Zeus scan and read findings from your own AI assistant. See Connect an AI assistant.
What Zeus looks at
- The Google map pack (his own map scans and yours), Google Business Profile, reviews and competitors' profiles
- Keyword rankings, Search Console and GA4 (through your Google connection)
- Citations and NAP consistency, and backlinks. Only listings that really are the client's count: a directory page for another business, or a search page listing many businesses, is treated as "not found", never as wrong details
- Competitors' keywords, but only searches about the client's own services in the towns it serves. The competitor's own brand searches never count
- The client's live website, wherever it's hosted (Mount Olympus, WordPress, Wix, Squarespace and others): which service and area pages exist
- The client's Mount Olympus site: schema and FAQ gaps, internal links, page speed, leads per page
- AI Visibility answers, for hosted clients with it turned on
- Google Ads, when the client's account is linked. A search that brings leads from the ads but has no page on the website becomes a finding to build that page
- Seasons, competitor changes and severe weather. See AI search, competitor watch, seasons and weather
Which website Zeus checks for pages
Before Zeus says a page is missing, he reads the client's live website:
- If the client's site is published on Mount Olympus at their own domain, he uses that site's pages.
- If the live site is somewhere else, he reads its sitemap (or, with no sitemap, follows its links for a few dozen pages) and checks titles and headings where the address alone doesn't tell. He reads it at most once a week. A Mount Olympus site that's still a draft isn't used to decide which pages exist, and the scan says so.
- Search Console pages count too, when Google is connected.
He never tells you to build a page the site already has. When a page is close, for example /drain-cleaning for "Drain Clog Cleaning", the finding says "You have /drain-cleaning — improve it" and links to the page. If Zeus can't read the live site, he doesn't call any page missing that month.
The same goes for the other website checks. When the live site isn't a published Mount Olympus site, Zeus reads up to 10 of its pages once a week: the home page, up to 6 service pages and up to 3 town pages. He judges them with the same page checks as the Local SEO Audit (meta descriptions, titles, headings, thin pages, image alt text, schema), so Zeus and the audit report agree about a page. If you ran a Local SEO Audit of the same site in the last 30 days, Zeus uses its results instead of reading the pages again. He also checks trust items such as license and insurance, near-copy town pages, which service pages the home page links to, and FAQ answers. If a page builds its content in the browser and Zeus can't read it, he says so instead of calling something missing. These findings say "on your live site", and their steps open the live page for you to fix in that site's own editor. Checks that only make sense on Mount Olympus (editor fixes, internal links between Mount Olympus pages, leads per page, unpublished changes) apply once the Mount Olympus site is published on the client's domain.
How often Zeus looks
- Auto-scan monthly (free): Zeus scans the client once every 30 days. It's off for new clients until you click Enable free monthly scans (which also runs the first scan straight away, free) or tick it in Zeus settings.
- Summon Zeus (5 credits): a fresh scan any time. The price shows on the button.
See How Zeus scans work.
Zeus learns from results
When you mark a finding Executed (on the Zeus tab, in Zeus chat, or from a connected AI assistant), Zeus records where things stood, including the site's Search Console clicks. He then checks the results at 30, 60 and 90 days, judging each fix by what it was meant to move (map coverage across the grid, the rankings of the searches about that service or town, a page's clicks, leads and so on), never by one lucky map point. Zeus uses what worked to weigh similar findings in later scans.
Zeus never calls a fix a failure before the 90-day check. Results are early at 30 and 60 days, so they can only look good or neutral then.
Which steps worked. Each finding comes with a checklist of steps. At the 90-day check, Zeus notes which steps you ticked. Across ContentForge he learns which kinds of step came before a gain for each trade, such as fixing the profile's categories, asking for reviews or building a service-area page. Steps that came before gains more often move to the top of the list. Once there's enough data, a step can show a line like "For roofing businesses, fixing the Google Business Profile categories came before a map coverage gain in 6 of 8 cases." Steps on one finding are usually done together, and other work happens at the same time. That's why Zeus says a step "came before" a gain and never that it caused one.
When you defy a finding. Zeus asks why, with one click: Not relevant, Already done, Client won't do it or Wrong data. Giving a reason is optional (Skip). If your agency keeps defying the same kind of finding for clients in the same trade, Zeus scores it lower for your similar clients. He never hides an urgent finding because of this, such as a big ranking drop, a problem with the Business Profile or the site being blocked from search. Wrong data goes to the ContentForge team to check what Zeus got wrong, and Zeus doesn't learn from it. Already done isn't counted as a rejection.
In the monthly plan. When Zeus writes a client's plan, he sees a short summary of what has worked for that trade on ContentForge and your agency's own past results with similar clients. He uses it to decide what to put first.
Privacy: what Zeus shares between agencies
Zeus learns from results across every agency on ContentForge, but only as totals: how many times a kind of finding or step came before a gain, for a trade. The totals hold no client names, business names, agency names or links to any account. A number is used, or shown to you, only when it comes from at least 5 results across at least 2 agencies, so no agency's own results can ever be picked out. Zeus never mentions other agencies or their clients. Your agency's own history, such as what you've defied, only shapes Zeus's suggestions for your agency.
Examples
- A roofer's first month: you add the client, click Enable free monthly scans, link GA4, Search Console and the Business Profile, save, and later that day the Zeus tab shows 3 Edicts: fix the primary Business Profile category, build a "roof repair Santa Rosa" page, and close a 100-review gap with the top 3.
- Monday check-in: your Dashboard's Zeus Edicts group shows two new Edicts across clients. You click each one, it opens that client's Zeus tab, and the group clears.
- A plumber after a hard freeze: a Weather Alert Edict appears with an emergency post draft ready to approve.
- Planning your week: Coming up → Zeus runs shows four clients due for their monthly scan, so you know fresh findings are coming.
Limits and what it can't do
- Zeus raises no more than 3 Edicts per client at a time, so the top group stays short.
- He only uses data he can reach. No Google connection means no Search Console, GA4, Business Profile performance or Ads findings; no published site means no editor or internal-link findings.
- AI Visibility findings need a website hosted with you and AI Visibility turned on.
- Zeus doesn't make changes on his own. Drafts and fixes wait for you to approve or apply them.
- Client people (portal logins) never see Zeus, his findings or his drafts. They see work done and results in their portal.
Credits
Reading findings, the monthly scan, drafts and Generate FAQ are free. Summon Zeus costs 5 credits per scan. Writing content from an Edict uses the Content Generator's normal price. See What costs credits.
Who can use it
- The client's Zeus tab: anyone on your team with the Clients tool. A Member limited to some clients only sees those clients.
- Summon Zeus, the Zeus Ads Review, Build a campaign with Zeus, the GBP Optimizer, Zeus in the editor, Zeus Edicts and Zeus runs on the Dashboard, Zeus chat, and Zeus actions on the Business Profile (Apply to Google, Zeus's profile check, drafting with Zeus): need the Zeus tool too. Owners and Admins always have it; Members have it unless it's switched off in Settings → Team Members.
- Client people: never. A client login that tries a Zeus action gets "Zeus is only available to your agency".
Troubleshooting
- Zeus is switched off for your account. Ask your agency owner to turn it on.: your Zeus tool is switched off. An Owner or Admin can turn it back on under Tools on your row in Settings → Team Members.
- The Eye of Zeus is gone from my Dashboard: it was replaced. New Edicts now show in the Zeus Edicts group under Needs your attention, and upcoming monthly scans under Coming up → Zeus runs.
- No Zeus Edicts group on my Dashboard: either there are no Edicts new since you last opened each client's Zeus tab, or your Zeus tool is switched off. Ask an Owner or Admin to check Settings → Team Members.
- The Zeus tab is empty and says "The kingdom is strong.": Zeus has no open findings. If the client has never been scanned, click Enable free monthly scans or press Summon Zeus.
- "Zeus is only available to your agency": the person is signed in as a client person. Zeus is for your agency team only.
- "Tool access required": you don't have the Clients tool.
- A finding says a page is missing but the client has it: Zeus reads the live site. Check the page is published, linked from the site or listed in the sitemap, and not blocked from search. Then defy the finding with Wrong data so the team can check.
