Connecting
- There's no Connect Facebook & Instagram button: it isn't available on your account yet. Post by hand for now (Copy caption, Download image, Mark as posted).
- "Facebook access wasn't given, so nothing was connected.": you cancelled on Facebook. Click Connect Facebook & Instagram again.
- "No Pages were shared with ContentForge.": on Facebook, pick the client's Page when asked which Pages ContentForge may use. Connect again.
- "You can't post on …" or the Page is grayed out: ask the Page's admin to give you full control (or content access) on Facebook, then connect again.
- "… has no Instagram professional account linked." or No Instagram account linked: switch the Instagram account to a professional (business or creator) account and link it to the Page in the Page's settings on Facebook, then Reconnect.
- "Facebook didn't give every permission ContentForge needs to post.": connect again and keep every box ticked on Facebook.
- "The Facebook sign-in expired or came from another browser." or "The Facebook sign-in expired.": start again with Connect Facebook & Instagram, in the same browser, and finish within a few minutes.
Publishing
- "Reconnect Facebook: …" / Needs reconnecting: the saved sign-in stopped working (the password changed, ContentForge was removed on Facebook, or the person who connected it no longer manages the Page). Click Reconnect in Settings, then Try again on the post. Scheduled posts that failed for this reason are queued again by themselves when their time was less than a day ago.
- "Instagram needs a picture or a video.": add one (Zeus image, or a photo from the client's Media), then publish.
- "Too long for Instagram …": Instagram allows 2,200 characters including the hashtags. Shorten the text or remove hashtags.
- "Instagram allows 30 hashtags …" / "… 20 @ tags …": remove some.
- "Instagram refused the picture's shape …", "… over 8 MB" or "… file type": replace the picture. ContentForge already sends a 4:5 JPEG, so this is rare; a different photo usually fixes it.
- "Instagram refused the video …" or "Instagram couldn't process the video …": the video must be MP4 or MOV, 3 seconds to 15 minutes and up to 300 MB. Pick another of the client's videos.
- "Instagram's limit is 100 posts in 24 hours for this account.": try again tomorrow.
- "The Instagram account is restricted.": sign in to the Instagram app to fix it, then Try again.
- "… blocked this post as possible spam" or "temporarily blocking posts": wait, change the text, then try again.
- "Facebook refused it as a duplicate of a recent post.": change the text first.
- "… is busy right now — trying again shortly.": nothing to do; it's retried by itself.
- "We can't tell whether the post went out.": Facebook didn't answer while the post was being sent. Look at the Page or Instagram account. If it's there, click Mark as posted (paste the link). If not, click Try again.
- "Waiting for the client's approval …": the client approves posts first. It goes out once they approve (or use Approve for the client).
- "Waiting for the blog post to go live …": it goes out once the blog post is published.
- "It missed its planned time …": it couldn't go out within a day of its time, so it wasn't sent late. Schedule it again or use Publish now.
- "This post is being published to … right now — wait a moment.": it's on its way; the card updates by itself.
