Connect a client's Facebook Page and Instagram

Connect a client's Facebook Page, and the Instagram professional account linked to it, so their social posts publish by themselves at the scheduled time or with Publish now.

Updated October 24, 2026

Connect a client's Facebook Page (and the Instagram account linked to it) and their Facebook and Instagram posts can go out from ContentForge: by themselves at the scheduled time, or straight away with Publish now. Each client has its own connection.

Before you start

  • You need to be able to post on the client's Page on Facebook (full control, or content access to the Page).
  • For Instagram, the client's Instagram account must be a professional account (business or creator) and linked to their Facebook Page (in the Page's settings on Facebook).
  • If Connect Facebook & Instagram isn't shown in Settings, it isn't available to your agency yet. It's being opened to every agency soon; until then, post Facebook and Instagram posts by hand.

Connect

  1. Open the client's Content → Social and click Settings.
  2. Under Facebook & Instagram, click Connect Facebook & Instagram.
  3. Facebook opens. Sign in, pick the client's Page (and its Instagram account) and keep every permission ticked. ContentForge asks only for what it needs to list the Pages you choose and to post on them and on the linked Instagram account.
  4. Back in ContentForge, pick which Page is this client's. Pages you can't post on are grayed out.
  5. If the Page has an Instagram account linked, leave Instagram @… is this client's too ticked (untick it to connect only Facebook).
  6. Click Connect this Page.

Settings now shows the Page, the Instagram account, who connected it and when. Scheduled Facebook and Instagram posts for this client that are still to come now go out by themselves at their time (the message says how many).

Reconnect

Use Reconnect to pick a different Page, add the Instagram account, or fix a connection that says Needs reconnecting (for example after the Facebook password was changed). It goes through the same steps; the new connection replaces the old one.

Good to know

  • One Facebook sign-in can connect several clients' Pages. Each client still has its own connection.
  • The access keys are stored encrypted and never shown in ContentForge.
  • Connecting is free. So is publishing.
  • LinkedIn and Google Business Profile posts aren't affected: Business Profile posts use Post to Google when the Business Profile is linked; LinkedIn posts are still posted by hand.
