Client Zeus credits: give, take back, “You pay” and buying

Give a client Zeus credits from your balance, take back what they haven't used, pay for them up to a monthly limit, or let them buy their own. Who pays for what, and when credits lapse.

Updated October 27, 2026

Each client has its own Zeus credits, separate from your agency's balance. Open Clients → the client → Settings → Zeus credits.

Switch it on

Zeus for this client turns it on. Then tick Use Zeus for the people who may use it (in Who can use Zeus on the same page, or in the person's permissions). It's off for new people.

What their people see

In Mount Olympus, their business app (web and phone) and their own AI tools, people with Use Zeus see Zeus (or the name you gave him in Settings → Branding) and their credits under the chat: "Zeus credits: 220 · 120 of these lapse on Nov 1". Every change shows its cost before they confirm ("1 credit · from Summit Roofing's credits"); questions are free. When they run out they see Buy credits (Growth and Agency) and Ask for more, which sends you a bell and an email. Under "You pay" they see " covers Zeus for you", and at the limit (with Stop) "Zeus is paused until ". They never see your balance, plan or prices.

Two kinds of credits

  • Given by you. Give credits moves credits out of your balance into the client's (your plan credits first, then pack credits). They lapse on your refill date, like your own monthly credits. Take back unused returns what they haven't used to your plan credits.
  • Bought by the client. They never expire, and you can't take them back.

Zeus uses the credits you gave first, so the ones that would lapse go first.

Give credits each month gives the same number on your refill date, right after your own credits refill and last month's given credits lapse. If you're short, they get what you have and you get one alert.

Who pays

  • Your team always pays from your balance, even in View as client. Credit history names the client ("Client: Summit Roofing · Josh Baker").
  • When their people use Zeus: Their own credits (the default) or You pay.
  • You pay comes with a Monthly limit (empty = no limit) and Tell me at (80% to start with). You get a bell and an email at that level and at the limit, once each a month. When the limit is reached: stop until your refill date (people see "Zeus is paused until "), or use their own credits. Your team's own work never counts toward the limit.
  • Automations you publish: you pay (the default) or their own credits. Automations a client person publishes use their rules above.
  • Messages "Zeus writes" for each person in an automation are paid from the usage balance, never credits.

If nothing can pay, people see why, and automations send their fallback text.

Clients buying credits

On Growth and Agency, switch on [Client] can buy credits. Their owners (with Use Zeus) buy in their business app, on a secure payment page.

  • Growth: they pay our normal price. The receipt comes from ContentForge ("Zeus credits for ").
  • Agency: set your own prices in Billing & credits → Client credit pricing. They pay you directly through your connected payment account (the same one you use to charge clients for usage). Your name is on the receipt and their card statement. We take our cost and the rest is yours. The lowest price covers our cost and the card fee, even for an international card.
  • Starter: you can give credits (so their people can use Zeus in Mount Olympus), but they can't buy.

Billing & credits → Credits your clients bought lists every purchase. Refund unused credits takes the unused credits out of their wallet, then refunds that part of the payment. A disputed payment holds the unused credits and pauses buying until it's settled.

In Billing & credits

The Client credits card shows each client's credits (given and bought), what you gave and they bought this period, what lapsed at the last refill, and "You pay" used against each limit. Credit history can be filtered to one client.

Something's not working?

  • "You have N credits" when giving: give fewer, or buy a credit pack first.
  • Take back unused does nothing: only credits you gave and they haven't used can come back.
  • A person can't use Zeus: check Zeus for this client is on, they have Use Zeus, and they have credits (or you pay and the limit isn't reached).
