Social in automations: posts, message replies and Google reviews

Start automations from a Facebook or Instagram message, a new Google review or a published post; post to Facebook, Instagram or Google; reply to a message within 24 hours; let Zeus write a post.

Updated October 26, 2026

Automations in a client's business app can respond to what happens on social and post for you. They use the connections you already have: the client's networks in Content → Social for posts, and the business's own Facebook Page and Instagram connection for messages.

Triggers

  • New Facebook or Instagram message: someone messages the Page or Instagram (pick one or both), optionally only when the message contains some words.
  • New Google review: a new review on the client's linked Google Business Profile. Limit it to some stars (for example 1 to 3 stars) or to reviews with text. Reviews are checked every 30 minutes. Reviews that were already there when you switched it on don't start anything. The run's contact is the reviewer only when exactly one contact has that exact name; otherwise the run has no contact (use Notify a team member to follow up).
  • A post was published: a post goes out from Content → Social, on the networks you pick, from an automation or not.
  • New comment triggers are shown as After Meta approves: they come once Meta approves the app for comments.

Post to Facebook, Instagram or Google

  • Pick the networks. Each row shows the client's real Facebook Page, Instagram account and Business Profile; a network that isn't connected (or isn't one of the client's networks in Content → Social) says so and can't be ticked.
  • Write the post or choose Zeus writes a post, and add a link if you like.
  • Picture (Instagram needs one): This picture (one you upload or pick), or Rotate through a folder: pick a folder in the client's Media, and each post uses the next picture in it, starting again at the first after the last. If the folder is empty, Instagram is skipped (the run says why) and the other networks still post.
  • Post now, Save as a draft, or Wait for approval. When the client approves posts, every post waits for their approval, even with Post now (the step says so). When the client doesn't approve posts, Wait for approval means your agency approves it in Content → Social.
  • At most one post every N hours for the automation (24 to start with), and at most 3 automation posts per network a day for the business. Each post is made once per run, never twice.
  • Posts are public, so contact details can't go in them: a value like {{contact.first_name}} is refused.
  • The posts show in Content → Social like any other, marked with the automation.

Zeus writes a post

Give Zeus a brief ("Remind people fall gutter cleaning is open for booking"). He writes one post for all the networks it goes to, from the brief and the business's details only (when a New Google review started it, also the review's stars and words and the reviewer's first name, since the review is public), and checks it for prices, dates or claims you didn't give. 1 credit per post, from your agency's credits; given back when nothing was posted. It works on automations your agency publishes.

Reply to their Facebook or Instagram message

Sends a private reply on the network they messaged on (or the one you pick), with your words or Written by Zeus (see Written by Zeus). Meta only allows replies within 24 hours of their last message: after that the step is skipped and the run says why.

Something's not working?

  • "already posted in the last N hours": the automation's one-post-every-N-hours limit; raise or lower it on the step.
  • "3 automation posts today already": the daily limit per network; it resets the next day.
  • "isn't one of this client's networks": add the network in Content → Social → Settings.
  • "within 24 hours": the person's last message is older than 24 hours.
  • New Google review never starts: link the client's Google Business Profile, and wait up to 30 minutes.
