How to fix schema and FAQ gaps on a client's site

Audit every page of a client's Mount Olympus site for missing schema, find People Also Ask questions the site doesn't answer, and let Zeus add the FAQ.

Updated October 19, 2026

The client's SEO → Schema tab (Schema & FAQ Audit) checks the structured data on their Mount Olympus site and finds the customer questions the site doesn't answer yet. Use it after building or importing a site, and every month or two to add FAQ answers people are searching for.

It needs a Mount Olympus site. Without one the Schema tab is grayed out; hover it to see why ("Needs a Mount Olympus site").

How to run the audit

  1. Open the client and go to SEO → Schema. Pick the site if the client has several.
  2. Click Run audit. It's free and re-checks every page and blog post, including unpublished changes.

The summary shows Pages audited, Pages with errors (Google can't use their schema), Pages with warnings and Unanswered questions (People Also Ask). The Local Business schema card says On the homepage, Missing on the homepage, or Turned off (with a link to AEO settings).

How to fix schema issues

Open the Pages view. Each page lists the schema Found:, what's Expected: for its type, and each issue with its fix. Zeus expects:

  • LocalBusiness on the homepage
  • Service on service and service-area pages
  • BlogPosting on blog posts
  • FAQ schema wherever there's an FAQ
  • Breadcrumbs on every page

Where the schema comes from is shown on each item: Business Info, Automatic, Page schema, Automatic (post) or Custom code. Schema the site adds by itself shows as Automatic (see AEO settings). A page marked Collection item gets its title, description and schema from its collection row. No schema means nothing was found.

Tick Only pages with issues to shorten the list. Click Fix in editor or Open page to make the change.

How to fill FAQ gaps

Open the FAQ Gaps view. It lists People Also Ask questions for the client's top tracked keywords that no page answers yet, each with its search volume and best page. For each one:

  • Add FAQ for me: Zeus writes a short answer from the site's own content and Business Info. He adds it to the page's FAQ, or adds a new FAQ section before the closing call to action, with FAQ schema switched on. It's saved as a draft ("Added the question to the FAQ on “Roof Cleaning” — a draft change, live at the next publish."). Review it in the editor and publish when you're happy. Undo takes it out again.
  • Open page in editor: write it yourself.

Questions the site already covers are under Already answered.

How to refresh the questions

The questions refresh automatically with Zeus's monthly scan. To get fresh ones now:

  1. Click Refresh FAQ questions (the price shows on the button).
  2. It says it uses paid Google data, one lookup per keyword, and shows the cost. Click Refresh now, or Cancel.

The button is grayed out until the client has tracked keywords ("Track keywords first").

Zeus also turns schema and FAQ gaps into findings on the client's Zeus tab.

Examples

  • A freshly imported site: run the audit, tick Only pages with issues, and fix each page. Often it's just switching on Local Business schema in AEO settings.
  • An HVAC client: FAQ Gaps shows "How often should I service my furnace?" with the furnace repair page as its best page. Click Add FAQ for me, check Zeus's answer in the editor, then publish.
  • A new quarter: click Refresh FAQ questions to see what people are asking now, then add the best few.

Limits and what it can't do

  • Only Mount Olympus sites.
  • Questions come from the client's tracked keywords. No tracked keywords, no questions.
  • Add FAQ for me won't add to contact or legal pages, and won't add a question another page already answers.
  • If a page's FAQ comes from a collection, add the question to that collection in the editor.
  • When the best page is a collection item (such as a page under /services/), Add FAQ for me can't add to it: the item's page is built from the collection's template, so a new section would show on every item. Add the question to that item in its collection.
  • Questions are looked up for the client's town (or the nearest place searches can target), not the whole country. A keyword whose lookup fails keeps the questions it had and is looked up again next time.
  • Google only shows FAQ rich results for well-known government and health sites. FAQ markup still helps search engines and AI assistants understand the page.

Credits

  • Refresh FAQ questions costs the FAQ refresh price per refresh, refunded if it fails.
  • Free: Run audit, Add FAQ for me, Undo, and the monthly refresh that comes with Zeus's scan.

Who can use it

Agency team members with the Clients tool can run the audit and refresh questions. Add FAQ for me and Undo edit the site, so they also need the Mount Olympus tool. Members limited to some clients only see those clients. Client portal people can't use this tab. See SEO tools overview.

Troubleshooting

  • The Schema tab is grayed out: the client has no Mount Olympus site. Build or import one first.
  • "Track keywords for this client to find the questions people ask.": add keywords on SEO → Keywords, then refresh the questions.
  • "No questions yet — they come with Zeus's next scan, or use “Refresh FAQ questions”.": questions haven't been fetched yet.
  • "Already answered on “…” (…)": another page covers that question. Nothing to add.
  • "Pick a content page for the FAQ, not a contact or legal page": choose a service or blog page instead.
  • "No page to add the FAQ to — open the site in the editor instead": add the FAQ by hand in the editor.
  • "This page's FAQ comes from a collection — add the question to that collection in the editor": open the collection and add a row.
  • "“…” (/…) is a collection item — its page is built from the collection's template, …": open the collection in the editor and add the question to that item, or pick another page.
  • "The page changed — refresh and try again": someone edited the page. Refresh the tab.
  • "Refresh FAQ questions needs 1 credit — you have 0. Buy credits to continue.": buy credits, or wait for Zeus's monthly scan to refresh them free.
  • "Could not refresh the questions": try again later. Your credit is returned when a refresh fails.
  • "Could not audit the site": refresh the page and run it again.
  • "Tool access required": ask an Owner or Admin for the Clients tool (or Mount Olympus for Add FAQ for me).
