Track your own AI prompts for a client

Write the questions a client's customers ask AI assistants, and see at every check whether ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity name the client. Each plan has a limit per client.

Updated October 26, 2026

Tracked prompts are your own questions for a client, asked next to the 10 automatic AI Visibility questions. Use them for the searches that matter most to the client, like "Who does emergency water heater repair in Santa Rosa on a Sunday?".

Add a prompt

  1. Open the client and go to SEO → AI Visibility.
  2. In Tracked prompts, click + Add prompt.
  3. Type the question the way a customer would type it (up to 300 characters) and click Add prompt.

It's asked at the next check (the date shows in the form), then every 14 days.

What you see

  • The card's badge shows how many you use, such as 5 of 10 used on Growth.
  • Each prompt has Named you on: one tile per assistant (GPT, C, Ge, P), colored when that assistant named the client, and "3 of 4". Trend shows the change since the check before.
  • Your prompts next to the AI visibility score is the share of answers to your prompts that named the client.
  • Click Pause to stop asking a prompt (it keeps its results), Resume to ask it again, Edit to change the wording, or the bin to delete it.

Limits per plan

  • Starter: 3 prompts per client. Growth: 10. Agency: 25. A client with several sites shares one limit.
  • Paused prompts don't count toward the limit.
  • At the limit, + Add prompt is off and the card says "This client has 3 of 3 prompts on Starter. Pause one to add another, or move to Growth for more per client."
  • If your plan changes to one with a lower limit, the newest prompts over the new limit are paused, never deleted. The card says how many were paused. Pause others to turn them back on.
  • Each prompt is up to 300 characters. A prompt can't repeat another one or one of the automatic questions.

Examples

  • A plumber's big money search: track "emergency water heater repair on a Sunday" and "tankless install in Sonoma County". When an assistant starts naming the client, the tile turns on and Trend shows ▲ 1.
  • Testing a fix: after adding Sunday hours to a page, watch that prompt's tiles at the next two checks.

Who can use it

Agency team members with the Clients tool. Members limited to some clients only see those clients. Clients see the Your prompts score in the portal, not the editor.

Troubleshooting

  • "This client already tracks that prompt.": it's a duplicate. Edit the existing one instead.
  • "That's already one of the automatic questions.": it's asked anyway. Pick a different question.
  • "Write the question a customer would ask.": the prompt is too short.
  • "Tracked prompts are available once the migration has run.": the feature isn't switched on yet. Contact support.
  • A tile stays gray after a check: that assistant answered without naming the client. See content suggestions for what to add.
