The Templates library is where you browse templates, start sites from them, and keep your agency's own designs. Open Custom Assets in the sidebar and click Templates. You see every ContentForge template plus your agency's own templates. Your own templates carry a Custom badge. Other agencies never see your templates.
Find a template
The row above the templates filters them. Your filters stay in the page address, so a refresh or a shared link keeps them.
- All, ContentForge or My templates: everything, only ContentForge's, or only your agency's.
- Favorites: only the templates you've hearted.
- Recent: templates you started a site from or customized in the last 90 days, plus your agency's templates made in the last 30 days.
- Fill with Zeus ready: templates with Services and Service-Area pages, so Fill with Zeus can make a page for each service and area.
- All categories: pick a category, such as Roofing or Legal. ContentForge adds these categories. The menu only appears once some templates have one.
- Search looks at template names and category names. Sort by Newest or Name (A–Z).
What's on a card
Each card shows the template's homepage (or "Preview coming soon" while the picture is made), its name, the number of pages and its categories. Hover over the card, or tab to it with the keyboard, to see the buttons. On a phone or tablet they're always showing.
- Heart: adds the template to your favorites, or removes it. Favorites are yours alone. Your teammates have their own.
- Start building: pick a client, or click New client. The site is created from this template and opens in Mount Olympus.
- Preview: opens the template in a new tab.
- Fill with Zeus: Zeus writes the template's text for a client. You pick the client next.
- Pencil: what it does depends on the template. See the next two sections.
Templates with Services and Service-Area collections also show a Fill with Zeus: ready chip.
Make your own copy of a ContentForge template
- Hover over the ContentForge template and click the pencil.
- The Create template window shows the template on the left. Type a name for your copy.
- Click Create & customize. Your copy opens in Mount Olympus. Edit it like any site and your changes save to the template.
Your copy appears in the library with a Custom badge. It keeps the original's categories. The ContentForge template isn't changed. Only owners and admins can create agency templates. For other team members the window explains this and the button is off.
Manage your own templates
Owners and admins see more on your agency's templates:
- Pencil: opens the template in Mount Olympus to edit it. Changes affect only sites you make from it later.
- Categories: tag the template with ContentForge's categories so it shows up in the category filter.
- Rename: gives the template a new name (up to 100 characters). You'll see "Template renamed".
- Delete template: asks "Delete "name"?" and warns "The template and its workspace are deleted for everyone in your agency. Sites already made from it aren't affected. This can't be undone." Click Delete template to confirm.
To add a template from one of your sites, see Save a site as a template.
Examples
- Start a plumber's site fast: filter All categories → Plumbing, heart the two you like, then Start building on one and pick the client.
- Your own house style: customize a ContentForge template, change the fonts and colors to your agency's look, and start every new client from your copy.
- Clean up: filter My templates, rename old ones ("Roofing v1 — old") or delete the ones nobody uses.
Limits and what it can't do
- Template names can be up to 100 characters.
- You can't edit a ContentForge template directly, only your own copy of it.
- Categories come from ContentForge. You can tag your templates with them but not invent new ones.
- Recent covers 90 days of use and 30 days of new agency templates.
- Templates can't be published as sites, and there's no template file upload or download.
- Other agencies never see your templates, and you can't share one with them.
Who can use it
- Anyone with the Mount Olympus tool can browse, favorite, preview and Start building.
- Only agency Owners and Admins can customize a ContentForge template, edit, tag, rename or delete agency templates. Others see "Only your agency's owners and admins can create agency templates." and the button is off.
- Client people don't see the library.
Troubleshooting
- "No templates found": a filter or search is hiding them. Try another search or filter, or click All.
- "No favorites here yet": hover a template and click the heart to add it.
- "Couldn't load templates. Check your connection and refresh.": reload the page.
- "Couldn't create the template" or "Couldn't create the template — check your connection and try again": the copy wasn't made. Try again.
- "Couldn't rename the template", "Couldn't delete the template", "Couldn't save the categories" or "Couldn't save the favorite": nothing changed. Try again in a moment.
- The category menu is missing: it only shows once some templates have a category.
