What the client Analytics tab shows

See a client's GA4 traffic and conversions and their Search Console clicks, impressions, search terms and devices for any date range, and download it as a PDF report.

Updated October 15, 2026

Ads & Analytics → Analytics on a client's page brings their Google Analytics (GA4) and Search Console numbers into ContentForge. Use it to check how the site is doing, or to send the client a quick PDF. It's free and reads live from Google each time you open it.

How to open a client's analytics

  1. Connect Google and link the client's properties. See How to connect Google and link each client's properties.
  2. Open the client and click Ads & Analytics → Analytics.
  3. Pick the period with the date selector at the top.
  4. Switch between Traffic Overview and Search Performance.

Date selector

  • Today, Yesterday, Last 7 days, Last 30 days (the default) or Last 90 days.
  • Custom: pick a start and end date.

Traffic Overview

From GA4, plus clicks and impressions from Search Console:

  • Total Traffic, Conversions, Impressions and Clicks, with the change against the previous period of the same length where available.
  • Website Traffic By Source: Organic, Direct, Referral, Social, paid and email visits over time.
  • Conversions By Source: the top 20 channels, with their conversions.
  • Conversions By City: the top 20 cities.

Conversions count the GA4 key events you ticked under Key Events to Display when you linked the property. If you ticked none, every key event counts.

Search Performance

From Search Console:

  • Impressions, Clicks, Avg. CTR and Avg. Position.
  • Top Search Terms: the top 50 searches people made before they saw or clicked the site, with impressions, clicks, CTR and position.
  • Performance by Device: desktop, mobile and tablet.

Click a column heading to sort a table.

Download a report

Click Download PDF for a report of the chosen period. On Growth and Agency plans the PDF carries your agency's own branding; on Starter it carries ContentForge branding. The button is grayed out until some data has loaded.

Examples

  • Monthly check-in: pick Last 30 days, look at Conversions By Source to see if organic is bringing leads, then click Download PDF and email it to the client.
  • Which towns convert: a roofer serving several towns opens Conversions By City to see where form fills come from, and adds service-area pages for the top ones.
  • Search terms for content ideas: on Search Performance, sort Top Search Terms by impressions. Searches with many impressions and few clicks are good topics for a new page or blog post.

Limits and what it can't do

  • Search terms show the top 50, and channels and cities the top 20, for the period.
  • Search Console data usually runs two to three days behind, so Today and Yesterday often show no search numbers.
  • If one side is missing (for example no GA4 property linked), the tab still shows the numbers it has.
  • It's read-only. Change goals and key events in Google Analytics.
  • Clients don't see this tab. Their portal and monthly email show their own summary. See Monthly overview email.

Who can use it

Agency people with the Clients tool. Team members limited to some clients only see those clients. A team member doesn't need their own Google login: the tab uses someone else's connection in the agency.

Troubleshooting

  • "Google Not Connected": nobody in the agency has connected Google. The Owner or an Admin connects it in Settings → Google Connection.
  • "No Properties Connected": Google is connected but this client has no Search Console or GA4 linked. Click Connect Properties.
  • Conversions show 0: the GA4 property has no key events, or the events you ticked didn't happen in the period. Mark the right events as key events in Google Analytics, then change the ticks in Client → Settings → Google Integrations → Edit.
  • "No conversion data available", "No city data available", "No search term data available", "No device data available": Google returned nothing for the period. Pick a longer period, or check the right property is linked.
  • "No GA4 property mapped for this client": link a GA4 property under Google Integrations.
  • "No active Google connection": the Google sign-in stopped working. The Owner or an Admin clicks Reconnect Google in Settings → Google Connection.
  • "Failed to generate PDF": try again. If it keeps failing, pick a shorter period.
  • The numbers don't match Google Analytics exactly: check the period is the same, and which key events are ticked. GA4 also keeps updating the last day or two.
