Owners and Admins run your agency's Agora. You create channels, turn on chat for clients, and can read every conversation. In the Agora window, click Admin at the bottom left.
Channels and members
- Create a channel with + next to Channels: a name (lowercase letters, numbers, - and _), an optional topic, private or public, and the people in it.
- Rename it, change the topic, make it private or archive it with the gear at the top of the channel. An archived channel is read-only and leaves the sidebar.
- Add or remove people from a channel with the people button at its top.
Turn Agora off for a team member
Go to Settings → Users, open the team member and switch off Agora (team chat). They lose access straight away. Owners and Admins always have Agora.
Client chats
The Client chats tab lists every client:
- Switch Chat on for a client and pick who's in it. The people picked for you are the team members assigned to that client, the Owners, and anyone who can see all clients, each with the reason shown. You can untick anyone or add someone else, and Reset to the default puts the picks back.
- On the client's side, everyone with portal access is in the chat automatically. People join and leave as their portal access changes.
- Members changes who on your team is in it.
- Switch it off to hide the chat from the client. Your team keeps the history, read-only, under Client chats (off). Turn back on brings back the same conversation for both sides.
Reading any conversation
The Conversations tab lists every conversation in Agora. Click Read on one you're not in. You can add a reason. The read is logged first, then the conversation opens read-only with "You're reading … as admin — not a member." Everyone on your team is told "Owners and admins can read all messages in Agora."
Read log
The Read log tab shows who read which conversation as admin, every export and every retention change, with the reason. All Owners and Admins can see it.
Export
The Export tab downloads one conversation or everything, as a readable page (HTML) or data (JSON). Files are listed by name only. Every export is logged, and exporting still works while Agora is read-only.
Retention
Agora keeps messages forever unless you set a number of days on the Retention tab (30 to 3,650). Click Check how many to see how many messages would be deleted, then Save. Once a day, messages and their files older than that are deleted for good. Leave it blank to keep everything.
Who can use it
Owners and Admins of an agency on the Agency plan. ContentForge staff never see your Agora.
Troubleshooting
- "Couldn't log this read, so nothing is shown.": try again in a moment. Nothing opens unless the read is logged.
- I can't turn on a client chat: Agora is read-only (the agency isn't on the Agency plan), or you're not an Owner or Admin.
